Just a little bit sad....The other day we were out in the backyard trying to spruce it up.  We're not too in love with our backyard, it needs a lot of help.  We've yet to put much work into it.  But, Saturday I thought I'd try.  I was doing a little rearranging and moved a bird house that I have.  I discovered a birds nest in it that I thought was empty.  Bob discovered that it wasn't!  It had some little baby birdies in it!  We thought it was important to move the bird house back to it's original place so the mama bird would know where her babies were.  It became kind of fun each day to go and check them out.  They grew a lot!  Sometimes the mama was in the nest, sometimes she wasn't.  When she wasn't, we could hear her squawking at us from the trees.  Well, this morning Bob noticed a cat in our backyard.  Didn't think anything of it...until (when he told me this he said, "I know you're going to think this sounds silly, but...") while he was out working in the garage, he had the door open and he heard the mama bird squawking up a storm!  He went outside and she was on the eave of the house.  He followed her into the backyard, to the nest.  It was empty!  She was sad.  The cat ate her babies....I hate cats.  Poor little birdies.

Cats are rarely friendly when you come home. Your dog will be as excited to see if you have been gone 5 minutes or 5 days. Cats are stuck up and eat things. They are only good for mice. Disney has several cats that run at night through the property to keep the rodents down. so they are good for something besides giving me asthma.

That is a little sad. Weird thing is, I had a similar experience with a mama cat. I was at my grandma's and uncle's ranch. Walking between the houses I noticed that Froggie (the mama cat) had moved a couple of her litter of four kittens to my grandma's porch. Well, she was hanging out along the sidewalk and meowing to get attention. She then walked away a little, turned and looked at me, meowed and I relized she actually wanted me to follow her. I trapesed across the lawn into the backyard where I knew she had been hiding her little ones. There on the ground was one of the kittens dead. The dogs had gotten to it. I was amazed that the cat was so concerned that she made sure someone found the body of her dead kitten.
