Windows, Doors and Insulation! Seems like it's been awhile since there has been much change to report. We had our first 4 way inspection a couple of weeks ago and there was a bit of a list of things that needed to be fixed. That meant getting the plumbers, electricians and framers back to take care of the things that didn't pass. The subs took their own sweet time fitting us back into their schedules....and WE found out that all the outside doors had to be installed, along with the fireplace! Who knew? We hadn't even been out looking for a fireplace yet! So, it took us a couple of days to find what we wanted, then the fireplace company had to come out and do the install. Last week we had the 4 way inspection again and passed! That opened up the door to get things moving along again. So, the last few days, big things have been happening. The house is all closed up now....except for the garage. Bob is working on the doors for the garage now. He's got his shop all hooked up to power...his table saw is up and running! The insulation is up in both the shop and the house. Tomorrow is the insulation inspection and if that passes it's onto sheet rock on Thursday.....that's big! The house should look way different by the end of next week. We'll almost be ready to paint!

Love, love, love our front door! All our doors (Except for the ugly white ones!) are awesome, in fact. We took a big chance and ordered them online from a company in California. They were a much better price than anything we'd seen for solid doors. They are beautiful and we are so happy with our choices. Who would've thought I could get so excited about doors? But, I am!
These will be our interior doors
On the 19th of June we'll be celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. In all those years we've never been able to park our cars in our garage. This time we will.....and I'm excited about it! I can't wait for those cold, rainy....I mean snowy winter mornings, when I can just walk out into the garage and get into my car. I won't have to worry about scraping ice off my windshield or getting all wet from the rain. Wow, what a concept!
Hopefully it won't be quite so long till the next post!
