The past couple of weeks I've been putting together a class Courtney asked me to do for her wards Super Saturday. She wanted me to do a presentation on creative gift wrapping ideas. Right up my alley! Just what I love to do! If I could go to work every day and do this, I'd jump out of bed before my alarm went off and race off as fast as I could go. If only....! While I was putting it all together I was thinking about why I love to do this so much. A memory came to me from when I was a little girl. I shared it with the ladies today. I had and Aunt, my dad's sister, Teddy. I remember going to her house with my dad to visit and she'd always have cookies in a coffee can. I can still visualize watching her take the plastic lid off the coffee can and offering me a cookie. I think they were always ginger snaps. Another thing I can remember is every Christmas we'd have an Alder family Christmas party. Auntie Teddy would always bring us a Christmas box, all wrapped up in ribbon and bows. When we'd open the lid and lift the tissue paper there would always be inside rows of beautiful cookies. It was thrilling to me! Such anticipation to see what cookies would be in the box this year! For some reason Auntie Teddy stopped coming to our Christmas parties. Maybe we stopped having Christmas parties, I can't remember. We didn't visit her house anymore either. One time though, after I'd grown up and had kids of my own, my Auntie came to visit my dad. He was really sick and she decided it may be a good thing to come and see her brother one more time. When she came, guess what she brought?! A package wrapped all up in ribbons and bows full of wonderful, delicious cookies! So, I've decided that's why I love doing this so much. It made me feel good as a little girl to receive them, and now it makes me feel just as good to create something a little special and give it away! Just another little note: Robyn was asked to give the same kind of presentation in her Ward in Idaho. Yesterday! So for the past several weeks the phone lines have been hot between here and there discussing all the ideas we had floating around in our little brains. It's been a lot of work, but so much fun for me to do it with her. I miss my little Boo. We have such fun together. Even if it's just over the phone!

soooo cute, you are great . . .what a talent. . .I am glad you are willing to share it with us too.
Hey Sue, I enlarged each of your pictures, such a cute class. I studied the pics to see if there's something new to learn! Gorgeous! Years ago I attended a stake homemaking Super Saturday and paid $2.50 to attend the best class I have ever attended. I still have the booklet my friend Debbie put together - it was all about original and inexpensive wrappings, containers, etc. I have taught the same class a few times, but never as beautifully as your pictures show. Love it!
Wow, you did amazing. I didn't see any of the things we picked out, but I just did a glance, need more time to examine them.
