It Sure Is Quiet Around Here!

I must confess. This morning I didn't wake up until 8:30. It was quiet and I guess I was tired. It felt good....kind of. We miss our boys! But it's a good thing. We are so happy that they can be back again with their Mom, Dad and baby brother. They were with us for almost a month. It's so hard to believe it was that long. Time sped by. It was a blur. We are glad it's over. Not because we didn't enjoy them, but because they are back where they are suppose to be. It was a special time, these past few weeks. There was a special spirit here, helping us get through each day. I'm not 30 anymore, but I surprised myself with the amount of energy I had. Once I got through our morning routine (thanks boo for your phone calls every morning), I was good for the rest of the day! Even though it seemed we were always on the go, back and forth from the hospital, we managed to squeeze in some fun times.

Aunt Bonnie and her kids sent us some sugar cookies and some frosting in a special box for Hank and Max. We frosted the cookies, added some sprinkles and took them to the nurses who took care of Ben. Hank celebrated his 4th birthday while he was staying with us. On the morning of his birthday he got a candle in his bowl of mushy AND the special day plate. He was actually more interested in the cartoon he was watching than his birthday breakfast!

Our assignment for Hanks birthday party was making 6 cupcakes. So, he picked out a chocolate cake mix at the store and squirt guns to put on top. Of course, licking the bowl was the best part.

I bought some bagel bites at the store for Max to eat at lunch time. He loves pizza. He now loves bagel bites. Hank thought they smelled pretty good so I challenged him to eat one. I told him I'd pay him 5 Bucks! So, without much hesitation he ate one! I had to pay up! One day we went to the dollar store for something and Max found these sunglasses. We told him he looked "Cool" and he loved wearing them.

On one of our trips to Walmart we decided it would be fun to buy some watercolor paints. Max loved playing in the water so this was a perfect activity! It kept him busy for quiet awhile. I even loved doing it! Painting is fun!

Papa built the boys a sandbox in the backyard. They watched him haul the sand bags from the front to the back with the wheelbarrow. When he was done they got a ride. Max's favorite thing to do before bed was to brush his teeth. Because he got to play in the water! He had the cleanest teeth in town!

Now,the sheets are changed, the beds are made, the toys are all put away. There are no crumbs to sweep up, no spills to wipe or fingerprints to dust. We're all cleaned up and back to normal. It's all really great....but actually....we miss hearing Max call out our names and Hank standing by our bed telling us he's hungry and ready to eat at 6:45 each morning. We miss racing down the stairs on Tuesday to watch the garbage man come by. We miss the kisses, the I love you's and the hugs. There's just nothing like it. It was really, really nice.
