My Mountain

Yesterday Bob and I went on a five mile hike on Chinook Pass up around Mt. Rainier. We went along with the YM and YW of our Ward. I was really worried that I might not be able to make it, but was promised that the trail would be "flat". Well, it wasn't "flat"... but I made it! It was very much worth the effort. I talk about how much I want to leave here, this state of Washington, but there really is so much about it that I love. Mt. Rainier is one of those things. My dad instilled in me the beauty of this mountain. I feel pride when I see it. When I brought Bob home to meet my parents for the first time I was excited for him to see "the mountain." It was February, so the chances were pretty slim. He didn't see it and I was disappointed. In fact, he didn't believe me that there even was a mountain! I love our sunny, clear days when it shows it's majesty. I marvel at it's beauty everytime. These pictures don't begin to show how beautiful the scenery was that we saw on Saturday. I couldn't believe how beautiful the wildflowers were. So fragrant too. Natures perfume. Everywhere I looked there was a picture that needed to be taken. I love my mountain. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
