Is it springtime in Seattle? It sure felt like it today. All week, "the bluest skies you've ever seen" have been shinning over Seattle, though it's been cold. Today the sun was out, yet again and the thermometer in my car read 64 degrees! What happens in Seattle when we have the first 60 plus degree temperature of the new year? Everyone takes off their clothes and you'd think you were in Florida or Hawaii! I know, I used to be one of them in my younger days! We went out to run some errands and sure enough, half naked people were everywhere! Tank tops, shorts, flip flops....we saw it all. Plus, everyone was smiling! That happens here too. Sunshine puts everyone in a good mood. To top it all off, we went to the Temple tonight and what do you know....daffodils were blooming!
I know from experience it won't last long. It's just a tease to get us through the next few months. Here is the Seattle forecast for the next five days just to prove it!
At least we have Mariner spring training upon us. I can't wait to tune into kiro 710 radio and listen to Dave and Rick call the games. Then, to smell the smells and hear the sounds of Safeco Field! What more could we ask for? As if the beginning of baseball season isn't exciting enough, the Grover clan is shouting for joy, ever so anxious for the season to start to "Welcome home Ken Griffey Jr.!" Happy day's are here again! It's going to be a great year for Mariner baseball....I can just feel it!

I would much rather have 40 and 50 degree weather instead of the 0 degree weather like our forecast calls for!!!
We had a spring day too! It was wonderful. My bulbs are up about 4 inches. Hope springs eternal!
Do you remember when we did the same thing one Feb. or Mar. day in Rexburg, 1975? The sun was out, it was a tiny bit warmer than normal (probably still in the 40's) and we decided it was spring. We put on those thin floral dresses that were so popular in the 70's, and ran off to school FREEZING. I remember the dean of women saw us and said, girls! aren't you cold? Yes, we were cold. But so sick of wearing giant winter coats and mittens and hats.
Today in Houston it will get up to 80 degrees. Swimming at the outdoor pool at the Y is on the schedule.
Jr. is back!
