Our Story, week 1

Grandma's full name is, Susan Lynn Alder Grover. I have one brother, Rick, who is 6 years older than me. When I was born he asked if I could be named "Susie!" My mom and dad said "yes," so that became my name! They gave me the name Susan, but called me Susie...except when I was in trouble! Then I was Susan! Grandpa still calls me that when I'm in trouble! People who don't know me very well call me Susan. Most of my friends call me Sue. People who are close to me call me Susie and my favorite name, which only special people can call me, is Suz. I really love it when my brother, or Grandpa call me that name. My very favorite name to be called though, is Grandma!
Grandpa's full name is, Robert W. Grover. The W stands for Wisdom. That was his mothers maiden name. Forever and ever when he was young he thought that his middle name was Wisdom. He didn't know it was just an initial. When he was little he had the nickname of Robin. He had red hair and so people thought that would be a good thing to call him! He didn't really like it very much! When Grandpa and I met he introduced himself to me as Bob. I didn't know his name was Robert right away. He'd decided he wanted to be called "Bob!" Now he doesn't like it so much because there are so many "Bobs!" When he got married and talked about when he'd have a little girl he said he wanted to name her Robin, only with a y instead of an i! So that is why our only daughter was named "Robyn!" Sometimes, when we go back to Rexburg, people will still call him Robin! It's funny!
